India has always been a primeval inheritance of carpet weaving, a craft that requires assorted skills and expertise. The glorious history of India's Carpet industry has its root buried deep in the cities of Bhadohi, Mirzapur, and Varanasi in southeast Uttar Pradesh and a few cities lying hundred kilometers away, around the three-city area of Shahjahanpur, Badaun, and Hardoi. Kashmir is also amongst the major centers of carpet manufacturer in India. Though, this art is no more isolated to villages or small towns, when it comes to trade! It has successfully spread its wings to reach the international markets.
